Students in the Health Academy competed in the Medical Terminology Challenge at Rock Valley College on April 17th.
Students from Auburn, East, Guilford, Jefferson, Byron, Belvidere North, Harlem, & Winnebago competed in a quiz bowl style competition, testing their knowledge of various medical vocabulary. They also received a tour of RVC’s Health Sciences building & participated in hands on experiences in different medical fields.

Congratulations to Sarah Legoo for being named the 2026 USBC (United States Bowling Congress) Youth Ambassador of the Year!

"The annual award recognizes one female and one male USBC Youth bowler for exemplary academic accomplishments, community involvement and contributions to the sport of bowling outside of league or tournament play.

Winners are chosen from submitted applications, and each will receive a $1,500 scholarship."

Sarah has done an amazing job representing Guilford High School the last four years. She has qualified for the IHSA State Series all four years and has been an exemplary teammate during her tenure here at GHS. She continues to rack up the accolades and will attend Sacred Heart University (NCAA - Division I) this fall continuing her athletic and academic pursuits. Guilford is proud of all that she has accomplished so far and we look forward to following your next chapter as you move on!

Guilford Key Club students attended DCLC Leadership Conference with 800 other Key Club students in Eastern Iowa/Illinois this weekend in Springfield. Key Club is the largest International Service community in the world and they learned about how to curate, provide and promote service amongst our community while having a great time.
