Rockford Public Schools is proud to celebrate 264 students who earned College Board recognition for their achievement in Advanced Placement (AP) courses and exams.
Together, these students earned an average AP Exam score of 3.29, demonstrating the hard work, preparation, and commitment they brought to their college-level coursework.
Students from Auburn High School, Marshall Middle School, Guilford High School, East High School, and Jefferson High School earned AP recognition this year.
Students can earn different levels of AP Scholar recognition based on their performance across multiple AP Exams:
AP Scholar: Students who earned scores of 3 or higher on at least three AP Exams.
AP Scholar with Honor: Students who earned an average score of at least 3.25 across their AP Exams and scored 3 or higher on at least four exams.
AP Scholar with Distinction: Students who earned an average score of at least 3.5 across their AP Exams and scored 3 or higher on at least five exams.

98 students earned AP Scholar recognitions
40 earned AP Scholar with Honor recognitions
52 earned AP Scholar with Distinction recognitions
Auburn students also earned 14 AP Capstone Diplomas, a College Board credential recognizing students who demonstrate advanced skills in research, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Guilford High School
39 students earned AP Scholar recognitions
7 students earned AP Scholar with Honor recognitions
13 students earned AP Scholar with Distinction recognitions

Advanced Placement courses allow students to take on college-level work while still in high school. Beyond the challenge of the courses themselves, AP students build skills in areas such as critical thinking, research, writing, and problem-solving that can help prepare them for college and future careers.
The achievements of these 264 students reflect not only their individual effort, but also the support of their teachers, families, and school communities.
