Students in RPS 205 high schools recently stepped beyond the classroom to explore careers in healthcare through hands-on job shadow experiences with local professionals.
The Health Academy is designed for students interested in caring for others and exploring fields like science, laboratory research, medicine, and the human body. Whether learning about cells and DNA, practicing medical terminology, or observing real-world procedures, students gain valuable insight into a wide range of healthcare careers.
Pathways within the Health Academy include Biomedical/Lab Sciences, Health & Wellness, and Nursing/Pre-Med. They each offer students a deeper look into specialized areas of the medical field.
These experiences are part of the district’s College & Career Academies model, which creates small learning communities focused on real-world application. By connecting classroom learning with workplace experiences, students build meaningful skills and a clearer vision for their future. Academies across each high school are designed to better prepare students for both college and the workforce.
