Course Offerings

The GHS Math Department offers the full range of traditional mathematics courses at the high school level. New students to GHS have a variety of algebra and geometry courses to select from that will be a match with their skill level. This choice continues as students move into the next level with both Algebra II (1, 2, & 3) and College Algebra offered. Advanced students may choose from Pre-Calculus on up to AP Calculus and AP Statistics.  Other third year classes include a non-AP statistics course  and a math applications course.

Students are required to take 3 years of math for graduation and it must be at least thru Geometry. Therefore Algebra 1-2 AND Geometry must be completed successfully in order to graduate. Students who intend to go to college are reminded that colleges and universities generally require that high school students have taken THREE or MORE years of math beginning with Algebra.

In addition to the courses listed above students may interested in AP Computer Science as an elective. The class will focus on JAVA programming.  Cisco Networking (1-4) is also available as an elective.

District Curriculum Guides - These are digital versions of the laminated curriculum lesson planning guides distributed by the Curriculum and Instruction Department. These can be printed or portions can be copied and pasted into your lesson plans using the Windows clipboard.
