This is a link to a great resource on plagiarism and many links
on the subject. It was designed by Katie Hubert of Seattle
Public Schools in the form of a "Plagiarism Quiz Project".
Developed as part of the NCA Evaluation

The mission of the high school libraries is to
assist students in their research in respective
disciplines. Through on-going teaching in the
use of electronic and paper resources we
endeavor to meet the needs of our students, and
hopefully, the skills they will have used in the
library at Guilford will translate well for them
in academia, on the job or in their personal
research.
Guilford
High School Recommended Links for Research
TeachingBooks.net is a time-saving portal to thousands of online
resources you can use to explore children's and young adult books
and their authors.
We provide immediate access to useful materials and exciting
programs (short movies, audio book readings, book discussion guides,
and more) that add a multimedia dimension to reading in the
classroom, library, and home.
Guilford High School is pleased to announce that
Peterson’s StudentEdge is
available for all high school students. Student Edge is a free
online resource center that simplifies college and career planning
by putting everything you need in one location. You have access to
test preparation, college searches, a scholarship search,
financial aid tools, a career assessment, and a resume builder.
Students will also get a personalized to do list that will guide
them through the planning process. Even 9th grade students can get
a head start on college and career prep with the online practice
tests and career assessment. You can access StudentEdge by going
to
www.mystudentedge.com.
First time users should see their school librarian to get our
access code.
This guide is used by all English
classes in our district. It is available to print (download) in two
formats listed below. If you have Microsoft Word available, choose
the DOC format. If this format does not work with your software,
choose the PDF form and print with Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Acrobat Reader is available as a FREE print
utility for documents that you could not otherwise print. If you do not
currently have Acrobat Reader on your computer, you can download it by
clicking on the logo listed below
Forms in PDF format require FREE Adobe Acrobat Reader; click
the GET ACROBAT READER button below to download Reader if you
do not already have it installed. (Version 9.1 now available)

STAFF LIST here and find the email
address from our complete listing.
Administration, counselors, office, and
support staff are at the top followed by an
alphabetized list of all teaching staff.
We are happy to announce that
our own district catalog (OPAC) is now available
on the web. Students will no longer have to use
the AS400, the keyboard function keys, and the
accompanying "green screens" to navigate the
catalog. It is much easier to use and conforms
to other community on-line catalogs.
You will now be able to search not only our
school's catalog, but also ALL other school
catalogs via a pull down bar. Most importantly
the catalog will show patrons "shelf status" for
items found within our library collection. The
catalog will be found as a link below. You may
wish to bookmark this address on your home
computer.

The library enforces the GHS school rule that
requires all students to have their ID with them at all times
and when they come to the library. As a result, it is no longer
necessary for the library staff to look up pages of class lists
to verify AUPs.
ID cards issued this school year have "AUP" conveniently printed
on the card which verifies they have an AUP on file. If their
card does not have AUP printed on it, the student needs to
obtain a blank AUP authorization form from the library or office
and take it home for signatures and return it to the library
ASAP. The library will then affix a colored sticker to represent
an AUP on their ID card with the date and library staff
initials. The library will promptly enter AUP into the student's
record and it will appear on their student ID the next time ID
cards are printed.
Students are reminded
that
without their ID cards, they limit their use
of the library. Thank you for your
cooperation.
