Teachers: Athletic eligibility in now on Thursday’s attendance sheets- athletes are denoted by ** before their names.

Please mark the student’s “EXIT” grade each week for eligibility, not the weekly grade.

 

Staff Directory is now here. Please stop in the Main Office to initial in red whether you want your address and phone published. This must be done by September 30th. Thank you!

 

All Faculty: there will be a sign up sheet for chaperoning the Homecoming Dance in the Staff Lounge. Come hang out with the coolest kids in town!

 

Students

 

Any student who wants to bring a NON Guilford student to the Homecoming Dance must have a guest pass completed & turned in to the Main Office by Friday, September 19th at 4:30pm. Forms may be picked up in the Main Office.

 

Seniors- The class of ’09 picture will be taken this Friday during 1st period. Remember to go to your 1st period class and then you will be dismissed. The picture costs $14. You should get an order form in your Government or Econ class. Money is due at the time of your picture. Don’t forget to wear your class shirt.

 

Attention: All Seniors! Senior shirts are in & can be purchased for $10 in the Student Store during lunches. This is the only Senior Shirt available & profits benefit our 2009 Prom!

 

Students: Cafeteria lines 1, 2, & 3 are the only lines where free & reduced lunches are available. Line 4 is a cash only line and the snack bar in the Commons is also cash only.

 

The school nurse wants to remind all 9th graders and students new to Rockford Schools that they must turn in a health exam and shot record to the Nurse’s Office. They will not be allowed to attend school after October 15th. There are NO exceptions!

 

Which class has the most SPIRIT???? The Student Council challenges Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors to a contest to find out. We want to see which class can fill their Halloween bucket with their loose change to help earn money for Pennies 4 Peace. AND… to make things interesting, everyone who donates get a chance to WIN a vintage GHS T-shirt!!!

Look for your class bucket in the Commons, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at lunchtime. Help prove your class has the most spirit! Go Vikings!

 

Anyone bringing donations for powderpuff games- bring your donations the day of the games, during set-up. Remember what you signed up to bring!!

 

We have a Northern Illinois Convocation Center trivia question this week. It is for 2 tickets to see Bill Engvall Live on September 26th.

 

The question is: What 5 letters of the Alphabet are not used in the naming of hurricanes?

 

Submit your answer in the ballot box located in the Main Office. All answers must be turned in by Friday, September 19th. Good Luck!!!

 

Attention: Hispanic Juniors & Seniors- if you have at least a 2.0 gpa you are invited to the National Hispanic College Fair Tuesday, October 28th. Sign up in the Counseling Office.

 

Students: Jostens will be back at school taking class ring orders on- Wednesday, September 17th during lunch periods in the cafeteria. Please have your order form filled out like the sample shown prior to the order day. You can design your ring online at www.jostens.com see your packet for promotions. Extra order forms and ring packets are available in the Counseling Office.

 

A $50 deposit is required with each order. You may use cash, check, or credit card at order time for the total amount of the ring or for the $50 deposit.
